What is a Collection?

A Collection is made up of Mahara Pages that have been grouped together. For example, this current Mahara Page you are looking at is part of a Collection of Pages. You can see the other pages in this Collection via the 'Mahara basics' Navigation block on the right.

You can also create a Collection that has the navigation along the top:

Plan what you want to show

It may sound simple, but having a plan of what you want to showcase can help you when building your portfolio. Once you have decided on what to show, define what pages you will need.

In addition to your list, have a think of what types of evidence would you like to showcase: photos, video, text, screen grabs, audio... Remember you're building a digital portfolio as opposed to a paper one.

Create your Pages

Once you have listed the pages that you want to have in your Collection, you will need to set them up individually. If you haven't done so already, take part in the Mahara Induction Activity.

Once you have set up your individual pages you can then move onto the next step.

Create your Collection

From the Dashboard, select the Your portfolios button which will take you to Pages and collections in the Portfolio area:

Dashboard

Next, select the + Add button:

add page1.PNG.1

Finally select Collection:

create collection.PNG

The rest is pretty self explanatory.
